Child’s Play

It’s never too early to be hip and tech savy.  Check out this NPR article about children’s book apps for iPods, iPhones and iPads.

Ruckus Media founder, Rick Richter commented on his companies goals in designing digital media for tiny tots, focusing especially on their award winning adaptation of A Present For Milo.

“What a 2- to 4-year-old wants in an app is to poke and be satisfied,” says Richter. “So Milo has 80 different touch points and 125 different animations — and they are randomized, so every time the child enters, it’s a different experience.”

The concept is interesting and I’m eager to see how the learning curve is affected by the introduction of this technology.  Apparently there are glitches to be worked out since the product is so new.
